GLORIOUS!

We woke on Saturday morning to heavy rains of a mountain thunderstorm. Then the clouds cleared to reveal gorgeous, bright blue skies! The animals must have appreciated the majesty as much as I because they came out in full force! We saw 7 foxes, including the mama and her 3 spring babies that live in the woodpile next door, 3 mule deer and a moose...all in our yard!
GLORIOUS!
This morning brought the biggest, fluffiest snowflakes I've ever seen! Yes, SNOW on June 13th!
GLORIOUS!
After the snow stopped falling and the temperature began to rise, the mama fox and her precious babies came out to hunt and play. Three generations of my family watched as mama fox made trips back and forth to feed her family. She came to our front porch and filled her mouth with as much of the food that we put out as she possibly could. Then she would take the food and alternately bury it for later and feed her kits.
GLORIOUS!
Isaiah 55:12
You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.

What a FOX!

Our fox friends, Farrah Foxett, and her two babies, Des and Dale, have been out enjoying the sun lately! They have a den in a wood pile right next door and spend the sunny afternoons out playing.

Say Goodbye

Yesterday we had to say goodbye to the Donham, Bock, and Millers. My baby sister, Carson, got a little sad that her crush, the 13 year old Miller had to leave. Boomer, the dog, was sad because the earlybird, Ty, left and now he has nobody to play with in the morning besides sleeping Mattie. Now, Grandmama has no girl to that is about her age (Mooshie). And my brother and I don`t have anybody to play with. We are getting lonely already!!

Snow Mountain Ranch

Today the Bock, Donham, and Lehane kids went to Snow Mountain Ranch with Lissie.  We had lots of fun there.  Rollerskating was our biggest hit.  At first we were like 'baby giraffes' as Lissie said, but later on we got the hang of it.  We started to make up games as we got better.  There were lots of other activities such as swimming, mini golf, crafts, ect.  In the swimming pool there is a slide that  you can go on.  Today was a great day and to top it off we had excellent sloppy joes a.k.a. 'Mooshie`s Miracle Joes.'  Everyone is looking forward to going back to Snow Mountain Ranch.

June 5, 2009
We arrived in Colorado today after a 19 hour drive from Houston, Texas.  On our drive, Carson loved seeing the antelope.
June 6, 2009
Today we saw a mama fox and two babies.  They were very cute.
June 7, 2009
Today we spotted our first moose!  We saw the fox family again this time with a papa.  We saw two voles today when we were burning wood.
June 8, 2009
We got up close and personal with the same huge bull moose as yesterday.  He jumped our fence and almost killed the dogs.  These videos are put on www.youtube.com under wakeme2board.  We saw a marmot looking animal that we cannot identify.  That day we caught three rainbow trout in the pond in Fraser.
June 9, 2009
My mom and I were on a walk and saw a female mule deer.
June 10,2009
Today our friend the bull moose came by again.  On the pass we also saw a bull elk.
June 11, 2009
In the neighborhood we saw two female moose.  The mama fox came into our backyard twice.
June 12, 2009
A young male moose came around the outside of our fence.  We saw him again in the woods.  Finally, we saw a chipmunk.  The light of my day was seeing the mama moose and two babies.   As visitors told us, the young one was THREE DAYS old!!!  The other was a year old.  Moose always follow their mothers for two years.
June 13, 2009
We saw that same family of moose again.  That same young bull moose came over again.
June 14, 2009
Today we saw a beautiful blue bird perched up on a log.
June 15, 2009
All we saw today was a fox.
June 16, 2009
Today we saw a baby fox cross the road.
